Letter: Dry month hitting pubs
As a pub landlord having just suffered one of the wettest years on my watch, which has substantially reduced tourism trade in the rural parts of the county, I have to comment how pleased I was to see the council continually promoting 'Dry January'.
Is this an initiative to hit the pub industry a little bit more? The CAMRA website currently states there are 29 pubs a week closing in this country.
Perhaps following health initiatives promoted by the council should be 'Fruit Only February' to affect the local butchers, or maybe 'No Milk March' to affect the dairy industry.
