Following their triumphant headline appearances at Oxegen and T In The Park this weekend and their Glastonbury headline performance last month, Kings of Leon are to follow next month's V-Festival appearances with a UK arena tour in December, which includes Birmingham NIA on Wednesday December 10.

Their recently announced V festival warm-up show at Brixton Academy on August 14 sold out in just 3 minutes.

Bassist Jared Followill has said in interviews that the new album, due to be realeased in September, will "rock harder", and that they are "ready to tackle their southern roots...again".

The band have already debuted two new songs, Crawl and Manhattan, in concert.

* Kings of Leon play V Festival at Weston park on August 16, and at Hylands Park Chelmsford , on August 17.

They play Birmingham's NIA on Wednesday December 10. Tickets go on sale this Friday 18 July at 9am priced at £25 plus booking fees.
