Punk pioneers The Damned are taking a break from recording their latest album for a tour which includes a night at JB's in Dudley.

Captain Sensible of The DamnedPunk pioneers The Damned are taking a break from recording their latest album for a tour which includes a night at JB's in Dudley.

Famed as the first English punk band to release a single (New Rose), an album (Damned Damned Damned) and tour America, David Vanian, Captain Sensible and co play JB's on Friday August 1.

The Damned made their live debut supporting the Sex Pistols in 1976 and went on to become forerunners of the goth rock scene.

Their singles have included Love Song, Grimly Fiendish and their biggest hit, Eloise, which reached number three in the charts in 1986.

They haven't released any new material since 2001's Grave Disorder album, but drummer 'Pinch' is writing an entertaining blog about the new recording sessions at his Myspace page.
