American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Lisa Mills is to play the last date of her British tour in Wolverhampton this weekend, with a full band and "very special guests" set to join her.

American blues guitarist and singer-songwriter Lisa Mills is to play the last date of her British tour in Wolverhampton this weekend, with a full band and "very special guests" set to join her.

Lisa MillsThe Mississippi-born singer will be at Whitmore Reans Conservative Club on Sunday night.

Her band will consist of bass player Ian Jennings, who has played with the Big Town Playboys and Jeff Beck; guitarist Rick Hirsch who has played with Joan Armatrading and the Greg Allman band among others; and Wolverhampton husband and wife Mark Stanway on piano and Mo Birch on backing vocals.

Stanway is keyboard player with Midland rockers Magnum, while Birch has provided vocal duties for a variety of acts including Go West, Ruby Turner and Robert Plant's Honeydrippers.

Describing it as Mills' "bon voyage party", Mark Stanway, who is promoting the concert, said it would be an "intimate candlelit evening of blues and roots music".

* Lisa Mills is at Whitmore Reans Conservative Club, Clifford Street, Wolverhampton on Sunday, August 3. Tickets, which can be ordered after 6pm Monday-Friday on 01902 421792, are £6.50 in advance and £7.50 on the night. The doors open at 7pm and there is a late bar.
