The band take the earnest music of the classic post-punk period, including the likes of Joy Division, Public Image Ltd or Depeche Mode, and rework the gloomiest of songs into their own laidback bossanova style.

Nouvelle Vague is essentially multi-instrumentalists and producers Marc Collins and Oliver Libaus, joined by a number of international chanteuses - six French, one Brazilian and one New Yorker.

They set out to sex up everything from XTC's Making Plans for Nigel to the Specials's Friday Night, Saturday Morning.

Other songs reworked by the band include Echo and the Bunnymen's Killing Moon and Don't Go by Yazoo.
