Regularly described as the "first lady of Scottish music", Eddi brings along her acclaimed band, featuring Boo Hewerdine on vocals and guitar, Alan Kelly on accordion, Roy Dodds on percussion, and Kevin McGuire on double bass.

The tour will preview songs from Eddi's new album Love Is The Way, which is set for release in March 2009.

However as a special treat, fans will be able to purchase an exclusive edition of the album, which will only be available at venues featured on the autumn tour.

The new collection of songs follows on from the 2006 release, the achingly beautiful Peacetime, which was preceded by the seminal Eddi Reader Sings the Songs of Robert Burns. The project saw Reader awarded an MBE for outstanding contributions to the arts in the New Year's honours list of 2006.

The Autumn 2008 tour will cap a busy year for Eddi as she is about to appear in a big budget Hollywood movie Me and Orson Welles, featuring 1930s standards such as You Made Me Love You (I Didn't Want to Do It), re-arranged and performed by Jools Holland who is accompanied on stage by Eddi.

Support act for the Telford show will be provided by New Yorker Lucy Wainwright Roche, the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Suzzy Roche (of The Roches). Described by the New York Times as having the best qualities of both her parents and a voice "clear as a bell", Lucy is a refreshing, pure alternative to the jive pop culture.

Tickets are priced £20 when booked in advance and are available now from the box office on (01952) 382382 or get your tickets here.
