Rose Royce started life as the studio band behind the Undisputed Truth and Temptations, before embarking on their own recording career in 1976.

The group took the name Rose Royce in 1976 when they recorded the soundtrack to Car Wash, the title song of which was a platinum-selling single.

Two further songs from the movie reached the R&B Top 10 before the band joined the producer Norman Whitfield's label.

Wishing On A Star and Love Don't Live Here Anymore, reached the top 5 in the UK.

In 1977 Is It Love You're After was another UK top 20 record.

Opening the night will be Birmingham Abba tribute band Bootleg Abba, performing all the classic Abba songs.
