Chart-topping choristers from Froncysyllte are hoping it is fourth time lucky.

The 60-strong Fron Male Voice Choir, with a combined age of nearly 4,000, originally signed a three-album deal with Universal Music Group in 2006.

Now, after all three records topped the classical music chart – Voices of the Valley in 2006, Encore in 2007, and Voices of the Valley: Home last year – choir members are hoping to get the go-ahead for a fourth album.

Dave Jones, choir chairman, said: "It is looking hopeful of having a fourth album. We are just waiting confirmation about that.

"It started as a three-album deal, but we have had three massive albums.

"We have been very lucky and we are very flattered. We have been very fortunate and coupled with that is the hard work of the choir. We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved."
