Tom Hingley, former lead singer of the band which had a string of hits in the early 1990s, including This is How it Feels and Dragging Me Down, will be performing a solo gig at The Ironworks in Church Street.

Hingley is the latest big name to perform at the Oswestry venue.

Mark "Bez" Berry, from the Happy Mondays and former Oasis rhythm guitarist Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs both performed at the venue last year, while former Happy Mondays and Black Grape frontman Shaun Ryder is due to play a DJ set on January 31.

Adi Evans, The Ironworks events manager, said: "It is good for Oswestry and good for The Ironworks to have big names at this venue."

Hingley performs on February 6. Tickets are £6 and are available from The Ironworks or by calling (01691) 679123.
