Jools Holland is returning to Shropshire for an open air concert at Shrewsbury Quarry.

The Later. . . presenter will perform with his Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on July 10. It will be his third appearance at the venue and the concert will be a night of pure boogie-woogie, which will be sponsored by the Shropshire Star.

Today concert promoter Chris Bailey, event manager from IML Concerts, said: "The setting will be pure magic, the ambience spectacular… and the crowd will be jumping."

Jools played the Quarry in 2005 and 2007, selling more than 5,500 tickets in advance, and this year he will take to the stage with an 18-piece orchestra and special guests.

Mr Bailey said: "It's a real pleasure to bring Jools back to Shrewsbury for another appearance at the delightful setting of The Quarry, and I am certain the audience will again experience a tremendous show.

"It will again be a picnic-style concert and we encourage everyone to bring their own chairs, rugs and cushions." Mr Bailey added: "IML has been presenting shows at the venue since 2005, in total nine great nights – including the occasional drop of rain – and each year we have been thrilled with the response from the people of Shrewsbury and Shropshire."
