Kravitz will play at the Civic Hall on Saturday, June 27. Tickets are £29.50 plus booking fees and go on sale at 9am this Friday, February 13.

Civic spokesman John Penney said today: "We are absolutely ecstatic today here at the Civic Halls and relishing the news that we have such a great living musical phenomenon coming to our 3,000 capacity hall in the shape of Lenny Kravitz. We expect our box office to be extremely busy!"

Kravitz has transcended genre, style, race and class in a 19-year career rich in the influences of 60s and 70s soul, rock and funk.

His talents as a writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist have shone through seven studio albums, all of which have been certified either platinum or multi-platinum.

From 1999 to 2002, he won four consecutive Grammy Awards, setting a record for the most wins in the Best Male Vocal Performance category for his single Dig In (previously winning for Again, American Woman and Fly Away).

In 2004, he received his sixth Grammy nomination in the category for If I Could Fall In Love from his sixth studio album, Lenny.

Kravitz's appeal has also been recognized by his peers; his collaborative efforts are as varied as his own influences, having worked with Madonna, Slash, Aerosnith, Jay-Z, Mick Jagger, P. Diddy and Alicia Keys.

His most recent album was 2008's It's Time For A Love Revolution.
