Movie stars Anvil added to Download

Also joining the line-up at Donington are Billy Talent, Dream Theater, The Blackout and Buckcherry.

Anvil, are the stars of the documentary Anvil! The Story of Anvil, which has received rave reviews around the world for its depiction of a group of friends who just will not give up on their heavy metal dreams.

Incredibly the band, who played the Monsters of Rock festival back in 1982, will return to Donington for Download.

They are joining a line-up which will be headlined by Slipknot and Def Leppard, with the third headliner to be announced on Monday March, 2.

The lineup also includes Whitesnake, Mötley Crüe, Korn, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Devildriver and DragonForce.

Canadian post hardcore artists Billy Talent return to Download for the second time and will hopefully be showcasing tracks from their hotly anticipated third studio album.

Dream Theater also return to Download for the second time, having first wowed the audiences in 2007. They have sold over eight million records worldwide.

South Wales punk band The Blackout make their Download debut this year, having built up a firm following from fans and rock press alike.

Grammy-nominated LA rockers Buckcherry return to Download having blown the crowds away in 2007. Last year they were added to the Crüe Fest Tour with Mötley Crüe as well as releasing their fourth album Black Butterfly, which went to number 8 on the top 200 charts.
