The action begins on Saturday May 16, with a delightful family show, where The Tales of Peter Rabbit brings to life the enchanting books of Beatrix Potter.

Jan Edmondson from Theatre Severn said: "This production has been designed for Peter Rabbit fans, young or old, and will be narrated by our very own Beatrix Potter.

"These Saturday afternoon shows will give a great opportunity for families to experience live theatre together."

Peter Rabbit and friends are on stage in The Auditorium at Theatre Severn on Saturday May 16th at 1pm and 3.30pm and tickets are priced at £9.50.

On Wednesday, May 20, dance company Ballet Central will be returning to Shrewsbury as part of an exciting new programme which showcases some of the world's most talented young dancers.

This year's repertoire offers audiences the rare opportunity to see a unique programme of works by renowned choreographers David Bintley (Birmingham Royal Ballet), Richard Alston (Richard Alston Dance Company) and the late Christopher Gable (founder of the Central School of Ballet).

Ballet Central will also be performing new works from dancer/choreographers Matthew Hart and Mikaela Polley, performed to live accompaniment from Philip Feeney, Ballet Central's Musical Director.

"Ballet Central was always very well received by audiences at The Music Hall and now with the extra capacity the Auditorium stage affords them, we are expecting an even more exciting and memorable performance," says Jan.

Ballet Central are on stage in The Auditorium at Theatre Severn on Wednesday May 20th at 7.30pm and tickets are priced at £16 for adults and £14.50 for concessions.

Fans will be able to relive the group's superb run of hits like Do-Wah-Diddy-Diddy, 5-4-3-2-1, Pretty Flamingo, Mighty Quinn and Semi-Detached Suburban Mr. James.

The Manfreds were only the third band (after The Beatles and The Animals) to reach number one in the USA.

"The Manfreds' gigs are always a quirky mix of the pop music for which they are famed, as well as the jazz and rhythm and blues that their music is rooted in," says Jan.

"This evening will be no different, we hope audiences will join us for a superb evening of music played by a group of fantastic musicians."

The Manfreds are on stage in The Auditorium at Theatre Severn on Tuesday May 26th at 7.30pm and tickets are priced £18 for adults and £16.50 for concessions.

All tickets for the shows above can be booked through the Box Office at Theatre Severn on (01743) 281281, or via the website at www.theatresevern.co.uk where seats can also be chosen.
