A blues band with Shropshire connections will be appearing as part of the fringe events running during the Ludlow Festival.

The Borderline Blues Band will be appearing in the courtyard at The Bull Hotel in Ludlow on Friday, 9th July.

The three-piece band, who have 120 years' playing experience between them, formed in 2009.

They are drummer John Lowe, from Essex, bassist Dave Hill, from Edinburgh, and Lydbury North's Chris Vowles, who fronts the band on guitar and vocals.

Although the band pepper their act with well-known favourites from artists such as Fleetwood Mac and Billie Holliday, they specialise in reviving "race record" numbers, originally recorded by black American artists whose records sold almost exclusively in the 1940s and 1950s to black music fans.

The band will also be appearing at The White Lion, Bridgnorth, at 9pm on 31st July.
