Two big names on the music scene will be in Oswestry over the next 10 days, thanks to the town's Substance club promoter.

After the success of the Jaguar Skills night at Gibson, in November, Substance is bringing The Reverend Soundsystem to Oswestry on Thursday.

The Reverend Soundsystem is the latest project of John McClure of Reverend & The Makers, the group that was main support to Oasis and Kasabian and was one of the headline acts at the Osfest Music Festival in Oswestry last May.

A spokesman for Substance said the night would also see live sets from local talent including Subtheme, the Phantom Runners and Albion, as well as the usual Resident DJs. Tickets are £10 in advance, available from Jacksons Clothing, The Avenue, The Bell and www.seetickets.co.uk

"Doors open at 8pm and we will have methods in place to avoid the queues that were so prominent at the Jaguar Skills night in November.

"The gig is still open to clubbers aged 16 and over. However, the number of tickets available to under-18s will be vastly reduced and will be sold on a first come first served basis."

On December 27 Substance will present a "Goldie Lookin Christmas Party" at the Ironworks. Tickets, £8, are available from The Ironworks.
