Dublin's biggest pop-rock band, The Script, enthralled a record-breaking audience at the LG Arena on St. Patrick's night, to bring some Irish cheer to the West Midlands.

Smashing the previous record capacity held by US Rockers Green Day, the Irish three-piece played to more than 15,000 screaming fans and started a momentous party with opening track You Won't Feel A Thing.

The Script have come a long way in a short space of time, topping the charts with pretty well every single they've released and netting two number one albums to boot.

Frontman Danny O'Donoghue exhibited his natural ability to impress with an immense vioce and stage presence that had the capacity crowd eating out of his hands.

Waltzing around the extended stage, which was set deep into the crowd, Donoghue thrilled his fans before raising the temperature to feature pitch when he met exultant fans along the crowd barrier.

His band played through We Cry, Before The Worst and If You See Kay, driving the crowd went wild, before raising the roof for their biggest sing-a-long hit, The Man Who Can't Be Moved.

Donoghue proclaimed his adoration for the Midlands, before turning up the house lights and orchestrating a mass "Happy Saint Patrick's Day" chant, which saw the noise levels bounce around the walls for minutes.

Continuing to wow the crowd with the spine-tingling acoustic I'm Yours, the bar was raised further with Rusty Halo, before an encore of For The First Time and This is Love, with the curtain closing Breakeven bringing a near two-hour set to a close.
