Fresh from scooping 4 awards at the MOBO's a few weeks ago, Jessie J descended on the West Midlands to open her Heartbeat Tour with the first of two sold-out gigs at the O2 Academy in Birmingham on Monday.

The London born singer-songstress has sold over three million singles worldwide and shows no signs of slowing down - despite her foot having been in a cast for the past three months after an accident that saw her resigned to perform from a throne for her much publicised set at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

However, in Birmingham it was a different story - for the first time J performed without her cast and she relished the opportunity to perform. Dancing around and taking in every inch of the stage, she certainly let the Midlands revellers know she was back - and loving it.

Opening the night with Big White Room, Jessie J sang through a stellar setlist of new and old tunes, with fan favorite Stand Up being mixed with an audacious cover of Bob Marley's One Love, before raising the tempo with Nobody's Perfect.

Standout tracks from the night were the vox-perfect acoustic of L.O.V.E. and Who You Are before the inevitable encore of mega-tracks Do It Like A Dude and Pricetag, which had the pumped-up fans bouncing off the walls before Jessie J's new tune, Domino ended the night on a high.

Jessie J plays a further show in Birmingham before heading off to a further 12 sold-out shows accross the UK. Surely the next time Jessie J returns to the Midlands, it will be on her first arena tour. Catch her while you can.
