Theatre Severn, at Shrewsbury; Oakengates Theatre, at Telford and the Assembly Rooms, in Ludlow, have action-packed programmes for people to look forward to.

Oakengates Theatre is presently promoting work by artists based in Shropshire and the Borders in an exhibition called Mick's Media, which is curated by art teacher Mick Gilmore.

Oakengates Theatre spokeswoman Sally Whitmore said: "The work in this exhibition is very varied but united by the exploration of different media including collage, watercolours, pastels, oils, mixed media and the ability to mix these creatively.

"Mick is an experienced painter, teacher and adult education tutor. He runs courses and workshops for individuals, groups and art societies. Much of his own work is inspired by the local landscape though he also does figure and life drawing."

Oakengates Theatre will also welcome the Telford and Wrekin Open Art Exhibition, from January 15 to February 23.

The venue will also host an adaptation of the CS Lewis classic, The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, tomorrow and on Sunday. The Arts Centre Telford is behind the work.
