Ronan Keating hints at Boyzone reunion

Ronan Keating gave his biggest hint of a Boyzone reunion yet during a concert in the West Midlands.

Twenty years since the formation of the famous boy band, its former frontman told fans at the LG Arena in Birmingham last night they could expect an announcement soon.

The reunion would mark another significant twist in the singer's recent life, following the loss of friend and band member Stephen Gately in 2009 and the collapse of his 13-year marriage in 2011.

Dressed to impress, the singer jumped onto the stage kicking off with a song called Fires from his new album, also called Fires.

He was joined by a large band, which included guitarists, drummers, flute players and an accordion player. But what was perhaps most impressive was the stage lighting.

Watching was a mostly female audience which slowly swayed and waved along as the singer did his thing.

They also showed sympathy when Ronan, who, having been obviously affected by the split from his wife, thanked them for their support during his difficult times.

Song after song was performed from his new album until the curtains were drawn – cue the encore and a return for two of his most famous hits, Rollercoaster and When You Say Nothing At All.
