Tickets for the annual festival, which will be headlined by the likes of Maximo Park and Athlete this year, are being offered at discounts of up to 58 per cent on offers website Groupon.

By 9am this morning, more than 1,700 tickets for the festival in September had been sold through the website.

Saturday tickets are on sale from £16, a 54 per cent discount, while Sunday tickets can be bought from £14, which is half-price. Weekend tickets have been cut to £29 on the website, a 58 per cent reduction on their normal price.

The offer is due to last for another two days.

The three-day music, comedy and arts festival will take place at the West Mid Showground from September 13 to 15.

Shaun of the Dead and Black Books star Dylan Moran has been booked to headline the event's Sunday comedy festival. Other acts booked for the event include Starsailor frontman James Walsh and drum and bass DJ Roni Size.

Last month, festival director Dene Edwards said this year's festival was shaping up to be the most successful yet.

He said: "The 2013 festival is undoubtedly our biggest yet, with an unprecedented amount of ticket sales before we even announced any acts.

"People are starting to return year on year but new faces will help us create what will be our best festival yet."

Last year's event managed to attract around 7,000 revellers – with numbers well up on the attendance of about 4,000 for 2011, when the event made its debut.

The 2012 event was headlined by The Wombats and Ms Dynamite, while the comedy tent was headlined by Andrew Maxwell and Mark Watson.

This year, gates open for campers at noon on the Friday. Gates open for day ticket holders at noon on the Saturday and 11am on the Sunday.
