X Factor star Rylan Clark launches Shrewsbury Buttermarket season
[gallery] Former X Factor contestant Rylan Clark had the audience on their feet as he launched a series of events from the show in Shrewsbury.
The singer and presenter, who made it to the eighth week of the contest last year, was the headline act at The Buttermarket for the event launch party.
During the evening the audience watched the live X Factor episode on a big screen before being treated to performances from former contestants Vicky Jackson and Tom Mann.
Martin Monahan, owner of The Buttermarket, said: "It was a great atmosphere and Rylan is a great entertainer. He spent a lot of time afterwards talking to the fans and there was a little posse of fans outside waiting for him when he left. It was an excellent night and we've had very positive feedback."
The gig was Rylan's second time at the Buttermarket, having kicked off the venue's X Factor concerts last year as well.
Every contestant of the X Factor final 12 will be performing at the music venue two weeks after they leave the competition this year.
