Oswestry choir to aid Poppy Appeal

A male voice choir will perform a concert in aid of the poppy appeal.

The Orthopaedic Male Voice Choir, based in Oswestry, will perform a concert at West Felton Village hall on November 6 starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are available on the door. The Poppy Appeal is the main fundraising activity for the Royal British Legion and last year it raised £36.6 million nationally.

Andy Young, chairman of the choir, said: "We are privileged and honoured to take part in this concert to mark the start of the Remembrance weekend.

"With so many conflicts under way around the world it is important that we take time to remember the sacrifices made by millions of people many to protect the freedom and integrity of countries and cultures around the world."

Through the appeal and other activities the Royal British Legion is able to spend £1.7 million each and every week in supporting serving and ex-servicemen, women and their dependants.
