The event, which was held to celebrate spring, took place at Fordhall Farm, near Market Drayton, over the weekend.

On Saturday there was a barn dance and hog roast, which saw local ceilidh band The Shropshire Heroes leading the evening's proceedings.

On Sunday, the farm hosted a celebration event which featured tractor rides, a visit from an RAF helicopter, dog show, exotic animals, demonstrations of rural crafts, sausage-linking and storytelling.

Becca Cartwright, who helped organise the event, said: "Sunday was mind-blowingly busy. The amount of people that were there was incredible.

"I would say we had well over 1,000 people which is a lot for us. You never know with events like this how busy they are going to be.

"We were very lucky with the weather and we did a lot of marketing on social media. We are very grateful to everyone who attended who seemed to thoroughly enjoy it.

"For the first time at our spring event we had a dog agility show. Whitchurch Dog Display Team did two shows during the event, one which included hoops of fire.

"Children were able to get up close to our spring lambs and also meet exotic animals which you wouldn't normally find in Shropshire.

"Those who preferred more active pursuits were able to investigate our hay bale tunnel, try the assault course, have a go at extreme trampolining, or firing Dan's human-powered cannons."

She added: "Although not as busy, the barn dance and hog roast also went well on Saturday. There were loads of people dancing and having a good time."

Fordhall Farm became England's first community-owned farm in 2006 when more than 8,000 people from across the world clubbed together to buy community shares in the business.

Ben Hollins, who runs the business with his sister Charlotte, said: "Sunday was a massive success to be honest and I think it was the busiest it has ever been.
