A huge variety of author talks and workshops will be taking place across Shrewsbury over three days from Friday to Sunday.

It starts with a launch reception at Prestfelde School's Blackburn Theatre at 6pm on Friday, followed by Jonathan Coe in conversation with Paul McVeigh at the same venue at 8pm.

There will then be a total of 18 events taking place on Saturday and Sunday, featuring storytelling, poetry, theatre and writing workshops.

Festival chair, Susan Caroline, of Pengwern Books, said: "It has been a real team effort and we are so excited about the festival getting under way.

"There is so much going on over the weekend. We really hope there is something for everyone, so we are urging people to look at the website and book their tickets in advance to avoid disappointment."

Tickets are available for all events on the festival website at www.shrewsburylitfest.co.uk or at Pengwern Books in Fish Street, Shrewsbury.
