1960s themed open air concert heading to Jackfield
Sounds and sights from the 60s will be in full swing at an open air concert in Jackfield.
The Sounds from the Sixties event will be held at Maws Craft Centre on Saturday.
The show will be featuring six-piece live band Tailor Made, a disco and karaoke, Terry Drury and The Travellers who will be performing A capella.
The concert will raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance.
One of the event’s organisers, Sandra Higson, said: “We’ve always done a Glenn Millar concert night, so this is a spin-off from that. We’ve got a live band, karaoke, we’re also doing a raffle in aid of the air ambulance, they’re our charity for this event.”
“We choose different charity to raise funds for for each event.
“We’re also running a 60s fancy dress competition and a karaoke competition.
“We’ve raised between £200 and £500 at previous events, it depends how many people come.
“We’re expecting about 100 people to come for this event.
“At outlast Glenn Millar event we had 180 people, it was packed.
“This is our first 60s night so it’s a new venture for us.
“It’ll be quite a bright and lively night, it’ll be brilliant.
“Tailor Made are brilliant, they really encourage people to dance and sing and jump about.”

The event will run from 6pm to 10.30pm. There will be a licensed bottle bar, 60s fast food from the tearoom, free parking, 60s fancy dress competition and a 60s karaoke competition.
The event will be held at Maws Craft Centre, Jackfield, TF8 7LS.
