Jason Donovan to present Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Ball and Recognition Awards in Birmingham
Jason Donovan is to present this year's Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Ball and Recognition Awards.
The star will host the event, which recognises bravery and lifesaving work of air ambulance crews, alongside ITV newsreader Nina Hossain at the NEC in Birmingham on Friday, June 30.
It will be the fifth time the ceremony has been held. So far, more than £500,000 has been raised, funding 200 lifesaving air ambulance missions.
Singer and former Neighbours actor Donovan has long been a supporter of the charity.
He said: "No matter how old or young you might be, no matter how fit and healthy you are, no one ever thinks they will ever need the services of an air ambulance - hopefully none of us ever will.
"I spend countless hours on the road up and down the motorways touring across the UK. In the event of a serious accident it is comforting to know that we have such an incredible rapid lifesaving service available. I'm full of admiration for the brave paramedics and pilots of the Air Ambulance.
"I am looking forward to meeting the dedicated individuals who truly make this charity and evening a very special occasion.”
