The Shrewsbury Fake Festival will see three top tribute bands take to the stage in the town's Quarry park.

It is the second year running at the festival will be staged in Shrewsbury and this year Oasish, Guns2Roses and New2 will be whipping up the crowd on August 26.

“The tribute bands we have on the Fake Festivals tour have toured all around the world with their acts, and we’re very proud that the majority of them started their journeys with Fake Festivals,” says Jez Lee, owner of Fake Festivals. “If you have never experienced a tribute festival, then you should really try the Shrewsbury Fake Festival for the day, I promise you will not be disappointed.”

Oasish is the country's leading tribute act to Oasis.

Paul Higginson, lead singer of Oasish decided to put together the Oasis tribute act as he loved performing to crowds.

“I had to research a lot into finding the right clothes and watching Liam Gallagher on stage so I could learn to mimic his moves,” said Paul. “I’ve studied for hours on end how he walks, moves, touches his hair and so on. I’d practice and practice until it became second nature to me, so when I changed into costume I’d slip straight into character.”

Oasish have won the National Tribute Award for their uncanny likeness and sound last year. Not only are they winners, but they have also performed at Wembley Stadium when Manchester City were in the FA Cup Final.

“We were performing Wonderwall as Liam and Noel both arrived separately. They went up the escalator next to where we were playing, and I was so absorbed in the show that I missed them. Our guitarist saw Noel clapping us as he went up to his private box. We then had to finish our set and quickly load out as we had to drive to perform at a Fake Festival that day,” he added.

They have appeared on The One Show, The Gadget Show, Sky News and Inside Out.

Early bird tickets are on sale until midnight on July 26. Tickets cost £18 for adults, £10 for a young person, a family ticket costs £46 and entrance for children aged between birth-nine is free.

Tickets can be purchased directly through the Fake Festivals website at www.fakefestivals.co.uk.
