Kim Kardashian musical coming to Birmingham

The Marriage of Kim K is a new production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro satirising the marriage of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

Kim's 2011 marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries began with a televised fairytale wedding and ended just 72 days later when a mysterious divorce was filed. The star is now married to music icon Kanye West who she shares two children with - Saint West and North West.

Kim Kardashian is an American reality television socialite, actress, businesswoman and model. She first gained media attention as a friend and stylist of Paris Hilton and has since gone on to be named in Time magazine's 100 most influential people in 2015, while Vogue described her in 2016 as a pop culture phenomenon.

Fans and critics have debated her fame, questioning the notion of her being famous, simply for being famous.

She was reported to be the highest-paid reality television personality of 2015, with her total earnings exceeding $53 million.

She is a star in hit American reality television show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which details the day to day like of the Kardashian family. The show mainly focuses on sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian, brother Rob Kardashian as well as their half-sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, formerly Bruce Jenner.

The series' success has led additionally to the creation of numerous spin-off series, including: Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons, Dash Dolls, Rob & Chyna and soon, Life of Kylie. The network has also broadcast several television specials featuring special events involving members of the family.

The Marriage of Kim K will appear at Birmingham's Blue Orange Theatre as part of Birmingham Festival from July 21 to 22.
