The Tequila Festival will celebrate the history, culture, and taste of the much-loved drink, in a day and night full of Mexican-flavoured music and entertainment.

From 3.00pm until 10.00pm, event-goers will embark on a Tequila tasting journey with over 30 Tequilas to try out.

On arrival, as well as being handed a complimentary shot, they will receive a Tequila Bible to guide them through their Tequila experience. Traditional Mexican dancers will twirl while a Mariachi band provides live music.

DJs will be playing house music with a Latin twist throughout, and a range of spectacular performers will entertain the crowds, alongside colourful piñatas and processions.

Guests can visit the Tequila cocktail bar, as well as enjoy specialist Mexican food stalls.

The Wine and Spirit Trade Association recently reported UK sales have surged over the last two years, particularly of premium brands, rising by 37% to £173million in 2016.

It’s become so popular that some of the biggest names in entertainment have their own Tequila brands, such as Justin Timberlake’s Sauza 901, George Clooney’s Casamigos and Sean “Diddy” Combs DeLeon.

The Tequila Festival organiser, Nathan Reed said: “Tequila is a drink that is associated with a great party all across the world, however, it is also now being recognised as a more sophisticated, crafted drink with a rich variety of flavours.

"Tequila has a very strong cultural identity, so we wanted to bring this to life and put on a festival that celebrates the remarkable diversity and history of this wonderful drink. The Tequila Festival will be an unmissable party, full of music and entertainment, and of course, a chance to taste the best Tequilas under the sun.”

The Tequila Festival will arrive at Birmingham's The Rainbow Venues on October 7.

Tickets for the Birmingham leg can be purchased for £17.60, including booking fee, from the Fatsoma website.
