Feel the heat at Dorothy Clive Garden's Chilli Festival
Things are hotting up for an annual festival celebrating the world of chillies.
The Dorothy Clive Garden, near Market Drayton, is preparing for the sixth annual chilli festival featuring competitions, demonstrations and markets.
The weekend event returns on September 23 and 24, running from 10am to 5.30pm both days.
The two days are packed full of educational events and fun based around chillies, with general food and drink also on hand for food lovers.
There will also be a chilli market selling plants, sauces, chutneys, jams, drink and spices. Plus, there will be live music throughout the weekend.
But the highlight will be Ran Ales chilli eating contest, which takes place on Sunday at 4pm, seeing 15 brave chilli fans try to swallow whole chillies. Entries for that contest are taken on Sunday and are £10 per person.
Shropshire salsa school Telford Salsa, run by Sylvie Daw, will be at the festival on Sunday to teach and demonstrate how to shake your hips from 12pm to 3pm.
Crafts are on hand for the younger visitors, alongside a bouncy castle, a face-painting artist, jugglers and henna tattooists.
Music is on offer too as Staffordshire band The Formula will take to the stage from 11am to 4pm on Sunday, following steel bank trio The Island Boys display on the Saturday.
Local chilli beers and ciders will also be on offer to cool off any lingering tastes.
