Bonfire Night 2017: Top bonfires and firework displays across Shropshire
Bonfire Night is set to go off with a bang across Shropshire with a variety of fireworks displays and entertainment for all the family.
Here, in no particular order, are our top picks of bonfires and firework displays happening across Shropshire - get your gloves and woolly hats ready!
November 3 - Wem Sports and Social Club Bonfire & Firework Display
Wem Sports and Social Club are set to hold their Bonfire & Firework Display.
In interests of Health & Safety, no sparklers are permitted at the event
Bonfire lit at 6.30pm with the fireworks display commencing at 7pm.
November 3 - Craven Arms Community Bonfire
Craven Arms Community Bonfire is set to return after 25 years.
Spooky seasonal craft activities will be on offer before the gates to the traditional bonfire open.
Treat yourself to themed food available alongside the usual tasty menu that has hot dishes of the day, children’s menus, sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes and more.
4.30pm gates open with the bonfire to open at 6.30pm.
November 3 to 5 - Bonfire Weekend at Lower Lacon Caravan Park, Wem
Lower Lacon Caravan Park are set to host a family spectacular this bonfire weekend.
A family disco will take place on November 3 followed by live music from The Jalapenos on November 4.
Music will be on offer from J.A.K.K.S. Barn throughout the weekend.
Gates open 5pm,bonfire lit at 6.30pm with fireworks starting at 7pm.
November 4 - West Mid Showground, Shrewsbury
Shrewsbury's Fireworks and Bonfire Spectacular will once again be hosted at West Mid Showground, with organisers hoping to raise thousands of pounds for charity.
There will be two fireworks displays this year - one aimed for families with young children, and a later one - with people being welcome to watch both.
As well as the extra fireworks display, there will be a free children’s sparkler area, a live music stage, funfair and food stands.
All proceeds go to the Shropshire & West Midlands Agricultural Society Charity - The Rural Charity.
Displays start at 6.15pm and 7.45pm.
November 4 - Blists Hill Victorian Town, Telford
See the night sky lit up over Blists Hill Victorian Town with a fantastic family fireworks display.
Wrap up warm, buy a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the smell of coal fires burning at the much-loved family attraction complete with a fireworks display.
The event takes place from 6pm until 9pm.
November 4 - Bridgnorth Rugby Club RFC Firework Display
Fireworks are set to rain over Bridgnorth Rugby Club RFC for their annual bonfire display.
Not only will there be a main display, but a smaller display for the little ones and entertainment throughout the night.
There will be live music, a BBG, a hog roast and a licensed bar for all to enjoy.
Gates open at 5pm. Junior display starts at 7pm with the main display starting at 7.45pm.
November 4 - Albrighton Cricket Club Fireworks & Bonfire Night
Albrighton Cricket Club are set to combine a night of fireworks and the fun of the fair.
A build a Guy Fawkes competition is also taking place. First, second and third prizes will be up for grabs.
Gates will open at 5pm and the Firework display will begin at 7pm.
November 4 - Brogyntyn Park Annual Bonfire and Firework Display, Oswestry
A Huge annual event for families and friends across Shropshire is set to occur at Brogyntyn Park.
All proceeds from the event are set to go to local charities.
Gates open 6.30pm. Firework display will being at 7pm.
November 4 - Alderford Lake, Whitchurch
Two fantastic firework displays, huge bonfire, a funfair, and plenty of food and drink - that's what's on offer at Alderford Lake.
Set to host fun for the whole family - the event also includes a sound sensitive display suitable for young children.
Gates open 5pm, fire lit at 6pm, sound sensitive display at 7pm and main firework display at 8pm.
November 4 - Rectory Field Bonfire and Fireworks, Church Stretton
Organised by The Scouts, Rectory Field are set to host a rip-roaring bonfire and fireworks display.
Friends of St Lawrence Primary School will once again be catering the event.
Gates open at 5pm, bonfire lit at 6pm, fireworks at 6.30pm.
November 4 - Wellington Cricket Club
Wellington's Largest Fireworks Display is back for 2017 and this year with more fireworks, more food and drink stalls, and more rides.
This 2017 family friendly firework event in Wellington is in support of the Wellington Mayor's Charity, Wellington Cricket Club and selected local charities.
Gates open 5.30pm, fireworks, 7.30pm.
November 4 - Wheatsheaf Bonfire Night, Newport
Live music and fireworks will be on offer at Wheatsheaf Bonfire Night.
SkaBurst will be playing ska and 2tone versions of classic songs as you tuck into BBQ food and enjoy the fireworks display.
Gates open and BBQ starts at 4.30pm. The bonfire starts at 5pm with fireworks beginnings at 7pm.
November 5 - Weston Park Bonfire and Fireworks, Weston-Under-Lizard
One of the regions largest and most spectacular bonfire celebrations with entertainment for all the family is returning to Weston Park.
There is plenty on offer with a fun fair, food stalls and licensed bar all set in 1,000 acres of Capability Brown Parkland.
There will also be two firework displays on offer, as well as a giant bonfire.
Bonfire starts at 5.30pm with fireworks starting at 6pm and 7.30pm respectively.
November 5 - Shifnal Cricket Club
Shifnal Cricket Club are set to host their very own bonfire and fireworks display.
There will be food stalls, crafts, music, entertainment and a funfair for the kids to enjoy as well as a licensed bar.
Gates open from 5pm, Start at 7pm.
November 5 - Chirk AAA Club, Wrexham
Bright Sparks Firework Display LTD are heading to Chirck AAA Club in time for bonfire night.
As well as an impressive fireworks display - sparklers will be onsale within a designated area.
Gates open at 6pm, bonfire lit at 7pm with fireworks starting at 7.30pm
