The London outfit, who blend country-rock rhythms with elements of bluegrass and folk, have been nominated for Best Original Song at the upcoming AMA-UK Awards. The winner of this award will be announced on February 1, the night the band play Birmingham.

Police Dog Hogan formed in 2009 and have released four albums, with their 2017 album Wild by the Side of the Road placing at number 33 on the UK Americana Albums Chart.

The band have previously appeared at festivals such as Glastonbury, Kendal Calling, Bestival and Larmer Tree.

In 2014 the group were one of only three UK bands invited to Nashville to perform at the Americana Music Association Awards, where DJ Bob Harris snapped them up for a recording that has become one of the most-watched YouTube videos on his Under the Apple Tree Sessions channel.

Police Dog Hogan will play Birmingham MAC on February 1.
