Savannah filmed their video for "Cold Heart" at the Dana Prison, in Shrewsbury, on Monday.

The music video shows the band members behind bars for their crimes of inspiring the masses to revolt against an oppressive society through musical influence. The "Cold Hearted" warden of the prison is at the centre of the plot and punishes the unlikely and wrongfully charged inmates.

The Dawley-based band had previously appealed in the Shropshire Star for extras to star as inmates in the jail house scenes.

Jason Lewis, guitarist, said: "The Dana is a really interesting location, it is a really old Victorian building - it has got a lot of history and it is apparently haunted.

"We were very excited to be filming at the Dana. We have never filmed a video quite so theatrical as this."

The prison in its current form was in operation between 1793 and 2013, and since its closure has been home to Immersive Events and Jailhouse Tours who run tours, interactive events and private hire.

Savannah's "Cold Heart" is due to be released on March 16, with the video available on Savannah's YouTube account that day.

A celebratory launch party for "Cold Heart" will also be held at the Dana on March 16, from 8pm, with support from Wrexham-based Luke Gallagher. Entry is £2 on the door.

This year sees Savannah on the bill for many dates across the country – with festival slots and Farmer Phils and headlining Telford's Branches in the Park.
