Sara Cox to bring 80s night to Birmingham

Sara Cox is set to present an 80s party in Birmingham.

The Bolton broadcaster, best known for her time presenting the Radio One Breakfast Show, currently hosts Sounds of the 80s on BBC Radio Two.

Sara began her career when she appeared in the music video for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's 1993 single Everyday and on a controversial promotional poster for the 1995 video game Wipeout.

Her first television show role was in 1996, when she presented The Girlie Show on Channel 4.

The 43-year-old broadcaster joined Radio One in 1999, where she co-hosted the Saturday Lunchtime Show with Emma Broughton. In the same year she replaced Zoe Ball as the presenter of the Radio One Breakfast Show, with her final show airing in 2014.

The star has also presented a number of TV shows for the BBC, including The Great Pottery Throw Down, Too Much TV, and Back in Time For.

Sara Cox's 80s Night will take place at Birmingham's O2 Institute on May 19.
