Shock and Gore Festival to return to Birmingham's Electric Cinema
Horror fans will be delighted when the annual Shock and Gore Festival returns to Birmingham.
The event will see city centre venue The Electric Cinema screen a variety of horror films, from independent shorts to blockbusters.
Films that will be shown during the 10-day event include Cape Fear, The Addiction, The Dark Crystal, Carrie, The Masque of the Red Death, Mommie Dearest, Psycho and more.
Party nights themed around the likes of Night of the Living Dead and Blade will allow film fans to sample a range of specially-crafted cocktails and enjoy big screen video-gaming.
The Shock and Gore 2018 Short Film Showcase will take place on July 29, showing a variety of mini horror flicks from across the world.
Previous years have featured films from Japan, Dubai, Canada, the US, France and Italy, as well as a number of home-grown shorts.
Birmingham food artist Annabel de Vetten, the mastermind behind Conjurer's Kitchen, will delight and disgust visitors on August 2 during a unique screening of Stephen King classic Silence of the Lambs.
The film will be paused at opportune moments, in which viewers can sample themed creations specially crafted by Annabel.
The Shock and Gore Festival will take place from July 27 to August 5.
