Local TV pilot endorsed by top care provider firm
A locally-filmed TV pilot for a care home comedy drama has been endorsed by a leading firm in the care industry.
Henry House has been independently produced in Shropshire by Rocking Horse Media.
Starring newcomer Órla Jones and ex-Blue Peter presenter Peter Purves, it follows the story of a family-run care home and the unlikely friendship formed between a young receptionist and a new resident with dementia.
Following a series of challenges that threatened whether or not the project would ever be completed - including star Purves breaking his wrist off set - filming was finally wrapped last month.
While director Gareth Thomas and the Rocking Horse team are waiting to see if the pilot will be picked up for series, they are thrilled to have this week been given the endorsement of national care provider, Radfield Home Care.
Gareth said: "Radfield Home Care have been supporting Henry House since the very beginning as consultants."We had them on the set so they were already a big part of what we’ve achieved, but to have the public and full endorsement of a national care provider, which is what Radfield Home Care very much is, for a show set in the care industry is frankly unheard of.
"The legitimacy this automatically instils in what we have created could honestly be the difference between getting picked up and not - that’s how important this is and we are forever grateful to them."
Also starring Ian McNeice (Doc Martin) Annette Badland (Ted Lasso) and Liam Fox (Emmerdale), Henry House attracted several big names.Radfield staff got to visit the set on the last day in production and meet Fox filming his final scene.
A spokesperson for Radfield Home Care said: "Working with Rocking Horse Media on Henry House has been an incredible journey, shedding light on the vital, compassionate work that care professionals do every day. It’s a privilege to be part of a project that honours the humanity at the heart of care."
