Bridgnorth Town Council is leading a community-wide statue trail, which will showcase the work of local artists.

So far it has been revealed that 12 train-inspired sculptures will be placed at various locations across the town. Each will be adorned with art that illustrates life in the town.

Locations include Witburn Street, Lavington Gardens, Severn Park and The Foundry.

Now officers from the RAF No. 1 Radio School have helped by painting the plinths.

Bridgnorth town councillor Sarah Stevens said: "RAF Cosford No. 1 Radio School are amalgamated with Bridgnorth, they do community projects and at Civic Sunday they said they wanted to have better links with Bridgnorth so they painted all the plinths for the art trail and they will be attending the launch on July 28.

"There will be about five other trainees coming and their sergeants and it's all gone really well."

Councillor Stevens added: "RAF Cosford also helped us enter into the carnival procession as they provided one of their vehicles for us to put one of the trains on which actually won runner up show vehicle, so they've really been supporting us."
