Wizard day out on the Severn Valley Railway

The historic railway will be launching its first ever Wizard Express service, which will run on August 1st, 15th, 16th and 22nd.

Severn Valley would like to invite all budding wizards to grab their wands, and get dressed to impress before joining them on a journey of magical adventure.

Starting at Kidderminster and ending in Highley, the day promises to be a journey your family won't forget.

All stations and carriages will be dressed for the occasion, and will feature themed decorations.

Shortly after arriving, visitors can collect their wax-sealed invitation to the Severn Valley Wizard School, and prepare to leave the humdrum muggle world behind.

After departing Platform 9 3/4, visitors will then be whisked through the enchanted Severn Valley countryside, before attending a lesson in wizardry at Highly Engine House.

Whilst on-board, visitors can enjoy a selection of tasty treats, while magicians perform spell-binding tricks for everyone to take part in.

Once visitors have reached their final destination, the Wizard School’s finest scholars will be on hand run master-classes in everything magical. From broomstick training, wand-making and greenhouse herbology.

At the end of the day, successful wizards can pick up their graduation certificates to take home and show off to family and friends.

Wizard Express services depart from Kidderminster at 11am, 1.40pm and 4.20pm on all four dates.

Tickets are £100 for a table of four and include guaranteed seating on the exclusive Wizard Express, as well as a chance to take part in three magical activities.

There’ll be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the day, so people are advised to bring their cameras to capture the magical day.

The unique event was launched earlier this month. However because tickets were selling so quickly, two extra dates have now been added.

The team at Severn Valley and we're urging those interested to book early to avoid disappointment.
