Former London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS) Royal Scot class, No. 46100 Royal Scot, will run the length of the county on Tuesday morning en route to Bristol.

The loco was one of a class of 70 built by the LMS between 1927 and 1930 to haul express trains from London Euston up to the West Midlands, North West of England and Scotland.

After being withdrawn in the early 1960s, it was bought by Billy Butlin for display at his Skegness holiday camp, before moving to a museum in Norfolk in 1971.

It has regularly hauled excursion trains since 2015, and will be bringing more tourists from Bristol to Shrewsbury on Wednesday.

Before that, the loco must get from its Crewe base to the west country city, a journey it will undertake on Tuesday.

Leaving Crewe Heritage centre at 8.49am, it will then run towards Shrewsbury and onwards to Hereford, Newport and Bristol.
