Tickets have already been snapped up for next year's Osfest music festival – even though revellers have no idea who will be performing.

The three-day event was Oswestry Showground, in Park Hall, from June 1-3 and saw performances from headline acts such as Razorlight, Hard-Fi, Dappy and Loick Essien. Despite wet weather which transformed the site into a mudbath the event attracted about 5,500 revellers.

Now, less than two weeks after the 2012 event came to a close, festival bosses have put tickets on sale for the 2013 event, and a number of people have already bought the 'earlybuy' tickets.

Organisers are delighted there has been this instant interest for the event in 12 months time, and also surprised at how quickly the tickets have been sold.

Carly Jackson, event director, said: "They went on sale over the weekend and we have sold four tickets for next year.

"We were surprised to see them bought, they weren't sold that quickly last year. It's lovely. They won't know about the line up until around Christmas time."

She said the Osfest team was already starting to think about next year's event and hoped to bring back the Shropshire Proms night, but wanted to make it completely separate from the rest of the festival.

"We have learned so much – we hope we are able to do the Proms again," she said."It branches out to a new age range and to people who never think about coming to Osfest.

"We had a lovely email from the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra saying they would love to come back next year.

The early tickets for adult weekend camping costs £55, and about £50 for under-16s. To buy a ticket or for more information visit www.osfest.co.uk
