Almost 1,800 tickets have been sold for Osfest – Break for the Border, which will be held from May 24 to 27 at Oswestry Showground.

This time last year about 400 tickets had been sold.

A host of big name acts – including The Enemy and Lawson and Wiley – have helped contribute to the rise in sales and organisers plan to announce further acts in the near future.

Carly Jackson, event director, said: "We have done a comparison of ticket sales with last year and they have gone up dramatically."
