Newport farm raises the steaks with Great Taste Award-winning Wagyu beef
A beef farm near Newport is celebrating putting Shropshire Wagyu on the map at this year's Great Taste Awards.
Staff at Wyndford Wagyu, in Chadwell, near Newport, are celebrating being a cut above the rest at the prestigious Great Taste Awards.
The company's Denver steak has been awarded a three-star accolade, while its sirloin bagged a one-star seal of approval from the judges.
Wagyu is a breed of cattle native to Japan and becoming ever more popular in the UK, the highly marbled meat becoming as synonymous with luxury as caviar for its buttery flavour and unique tenderness.
