Noddy backs our 'Save our Banks's Mild' campaign

The former Slade frontman, who famously appeared in Banks's television advertisements in the 1990s, voiced his sadness at the news that the famous beer was being discontinued in cask form in its 150th anniversary year.

Last week Banks's new owner, Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company, announced that Banks's cask mild was one of 11 beers that would be dropped by the end of the year.

Banks's Sunbeam golden ale was also being dropped in cask form, although a spokeswoman said it would continue to be available in bottles. Banks's Mild would continue to be sold in cans and in Smoothpour keg form, she added.
