It's an historic pub on the Staffordshire and Shropshire border which acts as a gateway to the countryside and has taught its European manager about the pub culture of the UK.

One thing which unites people in this country and across continental Europe is the love of a good drink, with bars in city centres in France, Germany, Spain and all other parts full of people enjoying a pint.
However, the cultures of different countries in how they enjoy a drink and what they drink can differ from country to country and it can be a real culture shock for someone to supplant themselves into another bar culture and be part of it.
Someone who has learned through doing just that is Sofia Svedh, who was born and bred in Sweden, but has been in the UK since 2011 and who is the manager of the Oaken Arms pub in Codsall.
Ms Svedh, who came to the UK after meeting her husband Frank Archer, said she had experience of being in hospitality, but had no knowledge of the pub scene n the UK until she first came to Codsall and started working for Mitchells & Butlers.
She said: "I had been a restaurant manager over in Sweden and I had been to college for hospitality and it was my chosen career, but I had no real experience in the pub trade as there's nothing like British pubs in Sweden, it's more of a bar culture there.
"When I came here, I started work with Mitchells & Butlers and have been with them for 13 years, starting my career at the Crown Wergs and working up from team member to deputy manager.
