Stress less – don’t let life get you down

When was the last time anyone empowered you? Something that really made you feel proud of yourself?

As the world goes by, it’s easy to question yourself and ask: “What on earth am I doing?”

Every day, parents and carers all over the country rush around busying themselves with every day chores and mundane routines.

Juggling work, feeding the kids and all the pets, slaving over the cooker every night not to mention trying to find ‘me’ time in all of this madness.

Being stuck in the same monotonous regime, it goes without saying that anxiety and depression can creep in very quickly.

Wouldn’t it make life so much more bearable if we had friends, family and acquaintances that empower us in what we do?

Make us think: “Yes, I’m doing a fantastic job and I am worth it!!”

This realisation hit me on meeting up with a friend of many years and she had written a book I knew nothing about.

She didn’t have the confidence or empowerment to actually send it to a publisher.

What on Earth is wrong with lifting our friends up and making them feel they are worth everything they do?

We all seem to be too busy judging each other rather than supporting each other.

It doesn’t matter about where we live, what we do for a living, how many kids we have. We’re all walking the same planet!

A compliment a day, makes someone’s life more bearable.

This is especially the case when the kids are whining for another biscuit and the chicken nuggets are three minutes away from burning the house down.

We all need to be encouraged and supported in order to thrive and feel empowered.

Let’s do more of it.

Let’s support our neighbours and ‘school gate’ parents by empowering them in every way.

You never know, that one accolade a day, could empower someone for an entire week.

Let’s blow some smoke up our bottoms and celebrate that we are all doing an amazing job in this never ending shift we call life.
