Fans praise Stormzy after he appears on The Jeremy Kyle Show to surprise a young follower
The grime star sent his love to the “inspirational” young fan on Thursday’s programme.
Grime MC Stormzy continued his run of good deeds and unexpected appearances by surprising a young fan on The Jeremy Kyle Show.
The Gang Signs & Prayer artist delivered a special video message to Matilda, one of the stars of Thursday’s programme which was dedicated to children suffering life-changing conditions.
“Legend” rap-lover Matilda was being hailed on the ITV show for her bravery, when it was revealed that she is a big Stormzy admirer.
Luckily, her favourite rapper was on hand to give his “love and blessings”.
“Yo, Matilda, what’s going on, it’s Stormzy here. I’m hearing how you’re a massive fan and that every time my songs come on you know all the words, you rap along. So I just wanted to send you my love and my blessings,” the 23-year-old star said.
He added: “I’m also hearing that you’re a little bit of a legend as well, so big up yourself. Lots of love, Matilda. Take care.”
The move was widely praised on social media.
The down-to-earth MC is no stranger to kind acts. In May, he donated £9,000 to Fiona Asiedu, an Oxford student who was raising £12,000 to study at Harvard.
Labour MP Sarah Jones quoted his hit song Big For Your Boots in Parliament, and he caused a stir among Love Islanders when his tweet was read out on the show last week.
In a nod to Chris and Olivia’s tumultuous relationship on the ITV2 hit, he took to Twitter and wrote: “Chris you’re too good for her mate,” attracting more than 27,000 retweets.
The song’s lyrics were also featured on a recent EastEnders episode, in a tense exchange between characters Keegan and Travis.
