Inspired by the 1960s The Blue Tuesdays are keen to introduce sounds of "way back then" to a younger audience.

The three piece band from Telford describe their music as "a mix of guitar-driven rock and blues" and have been gigging for the last 18 or 19 months.

The band is made up of members CJ Allen on vocals, bass, piano and rhythm guitar, Dan Walton on guitars, vocals, bass and keyboards and Josh Reid on drums, percussion and vocals. They are all 16 years old.

"Our influences are Cream, The Beatles, The Who and Jack White," said CJ.

"All of our covers and originals are inspired by 60s music. We like introducing younger audiences to all the great bands way back when and reminding the older folk what was going on."

The Blue Tuesdays, which formed in late 2010 early 2011, have played a number of gigs with one particular one that will stay in their memories; the Cavern Club in Liverpool. This is a place which has hosted many of The Blue Tuesdays' musical heroes, the band says.

Another top moment for the group was when it came second in Jack Bruce's competition with a rendition of White Room. This resulted in the Cream band member describing The Blue Tuesdays as "a very talented, young three piece band," the trio say.

Currently the group is "just gigging, rehearsing, learning and writing new stuff and more gigging."

The lads also have plans to record an EP in the future.

"We already have a few live tracks that we are thinking of putting out onto a demo CD but that's not been decided yet," CJ said.

Over in Oswestry and parts of Mid Wales and Shropshire Aled Roberts is playing his music which is, in his words, "interesting pop, contemporary yet deliciously old-school simultaneously".

His first performance was in the mid 1980s, when he was a teenager, and his passion for performing still carries on today.

He has played in venues and festivals across the country including performing at the legendary Glastonbury Festival.

Despite gracing the fields of Glastonbury he still rates The Ironworks in Oswestry as a great venue to play in. He also mentioned Telford's Warehouse in Chester and the former Varsity in Wolverhampton as good places to perform.

Aled released an album of his tracks in the summer after about six years of work and the creation of his own label called AMR Music.

He is constantly writing new material and is influenced by a range of musicians from Metallica to Mozart, Chilli Peppers to Chic and Beatles to Beastie Boys.
