Tyga to host Gatecrasher Nicki Minaj afterparty

Upcoming rapper TYGA will hit Birmingham on Saturday after warming-up for international megastar Nicki Minaj at the LG Arena.

TYGA will host the official concert afterparty at Gatecrasher, the same night spot that welcomed Minaj in June following her gig at the city's NIA.

On that occasion, Minaj was joined by stars like Katie Price and Danielle Lloyd and it is hoped celebrities will be out in force again on Saturday. TYGA will make his Gatecrasher debut, straight from the stage at the LG.

The star has been having a busy few weeks. As well as being on the road for Minaj's European tour, last week TYGA and his girlfriend Blac Chyna brought their first baby boy, King Cairo Stevenson, into the world. He has also announced two new album projects: 'Hotel California' and his Chris Brown collaboration 'Fan of a Fan 2.'

TYGA grew up with a father while his mother served time in jail during his teens. However, the rapper views his upbringing as a source of motivation.

He counts his friends as stars like Fall Out Boy and Lil Wayne and earned his big break after recording a mixtape and promoting it throughout Los Angeles.

His 2012 album, Careless World, featured Game, Snoop Dogg, and Drake.

TYGA said: "It's the story about me becoming king in this place I call Careless World. It goes through me being at the bottom trying to get to the top and going through war, love, and stuff like that."

TYGA recently collaborated with X Factor's Tulisa on her track Live it Up, which reached number 11 in the UK charts.

TYGA is expected at Gatecrasher Birmingham, on Broad Street, between 10pm and 4am and will host the official Nicki Minaj afterparty with DJ Fricktion, Sunny Mandez, Kay Kassanova.

Others lined up to star include Rue Jay, Kaos, Luke Beckford, Mikael Diaz, Hed Kandi, Andy Daniels, Stu Ojelay and Tom Dalips.

Tickets, priced £15, are available from www.gatecrasher.com/tickets.
