JLS, who shot to fame after appearing on ITV talent show X Factor in 2008, will perform at Osfest – Break for the Border in May.

The festival at Oswestry's Park Hall has been held for the last three years and has attracted a number of top acts including rock band Razorlight and Hard-Fi.

The event, over the weekend of May 24 to 27, is expected to be a sell out with more than 5,000 revellers.

The four piece – Aston Merrygold, Ortise Williams, JB Gill and Marvin Humes – will appear in the county before they begin a massive arena tour around the UK this December.

Carly Jackson, event director, said: "These are some of our biggest announcements to date and we are delighted to be welcoming JLS to Oswestry, Shropshire. It's great that JLS will be performing a DJ Set at the Buttermarket in April; everyone will be well and truly in the mood to see them perform live at Osfest. So break for the border and buy your tickets now."

More announcements about acts set to perform will be made in the coming weeks and for the first time in its history the star-studded music festival will be under cover.

After the wet weather of last year which turned areas of the festival into a mud bath organisers have decided that this year the main stage will be inside a big top.

This year the festival early buy tickets are limited to only 800 and will only be on sale until midnight on February 15.

Ms Jackson said: "When they are gone they are gone, so don't miss out."

Early Buy tickets are £59.50 for the whole weekend. For tickets or more details call (01691) 680468 or visit www.osfest.co.uk
