The Sheffield born singer-songwriter, who was a former member of Ace, Squeeze, Roxy Music and more recently Mike and the Mechanics performed a mixture of old and new songs for his fans at Theatre Severn.

The 61-year-old was in Shrewsbury as part of a UK-wide tour to promote his latest album 'Good Feeling'.

The album was produced by the singer who also played most of the instruments – accompanied by his son Jack, now a member of the band, on drums.

The record was co-written with fellow Squeeze member Chris Difford and songwriter Charlie Dore.

Since the 1970s, Carrack has written many famous songs including Ace's 'How Long,' and Mike & the Mechanics' 'The Living Years.'

He also wrote songs for the Eagles, including 'Love Will Keep Us Alive' and 'I Don't Want To Hear Any More.'

The singer has also recorded and performed collaborations with the likes of Roger Waters, Ringo Starr and B.B. King.
